In study1, we replicated the research which Greitemeyer (2009) conducted. Results showed that participants evaluated single targets more negatively than the targets having intimate partner in terms of personality, quality of life and physical attractiveness. In study2, we attempted to explore psychological mechanism that produce singlism. We hypothesized that a priori belief relevant to marriage-oriented lead people to evaluate negatively against singles.
